Childhood: Sara was born to teenagers Beau Lizzard and Sophie Vanpelt.
She didn't meet her biological father at birth but was held for a few minutes by her biological mother. "I love you, and when you love someone, you always do what's best for them. That's why I'm giving you up." Sophie - Sara. She was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Lauren who's first names were never mentioned. Editor's note: The names I picked out for them were Jarred and Makayla.
During the first few books, nothing about Sara's upbringing was really known. All we knew for sure was Sara didn't have any magic of her own. Also, we know she had once attended Iridium elementary alongside her cousin Emily because, in the second book, Sara asked Emily why she never saw her at school anymore. We also know she visited with her birth mother a minimum of twice a year but it wasn't uncommon to have more than those two visitations as it was once mentioned Sophie was sometimes able to ask to have Sara on a day she wasn't supposed to have her for special occasions and the adoptive parents normally agreed.
When Sara was a teenager we learned that she had experienced a wonderful childhood. Sara had very fond childhood memories with her parents. This included playing in the snow and then drinking hot cocoa on cold winter days and watching sunsets during the warm summer evenings.
Sara had a rough teen life and experimented with drinking and sex.
Around 14 or 15, Sara lost both of her adoptive parents and was brought to magic realm services, the department of magical children. There, she was greeted by her birth mother. Sophie couldn't, at the time, take custody of Sara, so she arranged for her older sister Maddie to take Sara in temporally. Sara was very polite and well-behaved while living with Maddie. During her time in Maddie's care, Sara went on what she thought was a date. She was brought to a motel where he tried having sex with her. When she refused, he attempted to force her. Sara managed to fight him off and escape. She later confided in Maddie but Sara didn't want to get the police involved.
Sara seemed happy enough to be moving in with her birth mother and didn't seem unhappy or uncomfortable living with Sophie. However, Sara started having guilty feelings about seeing Sophie as her mother. She soon started acting out by sleeping with multiple guys, some were much older than her. When she started hanging out with Jade and Amber, she started sneaking into bars with them to drink and sleep with adult guys. She was once found by Emily dancing on a table in the bar wearing just a crop top and mini skirt. She was caught by Sophie was grounded.
This was around the time she found out she was pregnant. She was around sixteen at this point. This hurt her relationship with both of her biological parents. Sara was scared about being pregnant so young and didn't know what to do. She turned to her cousin Emily and acquaintance Rose for advice since they were both teen moms. She decided to keep the baby and turned to her mother for help and support. This improved their relationship drastically. She stopped hanging out with Jade and Amber and got her act together.
Motherhood: Sara had no idea what she was getting herself into when she decided to keep her daughter, Sami, and be a single mom. Sara attempted to be a good mom but often struggled and often had no idea what to do. Sami was a very fussy baby who never seemed to stop crying. Sara also didn't bond well with her daughter despite her efforts. At one point, she seriously considered giving Sami up for adoption. However, things slowly turned around, and as Sami got older, she became easier to handle. Sara knew she never wanted to have another child. "I'm never having another. There is no way I will ever want to go through raising another baby, the first year is the worst." Sami - Billy. Sami was the only child she had.
Love life: As mentioned, Sara had many one-night stands, some with teen boys, some with guys much older than her. She didn't even remember all of their names, including the one who got her pregnant. There was one boy she tried to date but she didn't feel a connection. Her only relationship was with Billy Skyler. Sara met Billy in high school after standing up for him in the cafeteria when he was being bullied by some football players. Sara asked if he wanted to hang out which Billy was surprised about because he was a nerd and she was a cheerleader. Sara told him not to be stereotypical and the two started hanging out. Sara casually mentioned she had a daughter before they first hung out. "Okay, cool. We just have to make one stop on the way, I have to pick up my daughter." Billy didn't have a reaction to this which probably meant he already knew she was a teen mom. It wasn't all that long before they started dating. When every witch teen finished, they were seemingly getting serious and talking about the future. A few chapters into Rise of the Superiors, which took place four years after the last book of Every witch teen, we find out they were engaged and living together with Sara's daughter who was then almost seven-years-old.
Personality
Sara was quite lost in her way during her teenage years and made some bad choices. However, she was a sweet young girl. Sara preferred to hide her feelings and act strong rather than talk to her family when something was bothering her.

During the first seven chapters of the second book, we were left wondering what had become of Sophie's biological daughter Sara was given up for adoption at birth in the first book. Now ten-years-old, Sara made a guest appearance in the eighth chapter when she accompanied Sophie to Ursula's Christmas Eve party. We don't find out much about what life had been like up to that point, except that she attended Iridium elementary school- she asked Emily why she didn't see her at school anymore and it was later in the series revealed that Emily along with Jessie, Shawn, and Gracie, had all attended Iridium elementary school before starting at the Academy. Also, since Sara wasn't a student at the Academy, it can be assumed that she hadn't developed any magic yet.
